About MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions

 

Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Educational Research (MAEER'S) was the first step in the revolution of the education scenario of  State of Maharashtra taken by Hon'ble Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, who was himself a Professor of Engineering at the government College of Engineering (COEP), Pune. The journey of MAEER's began in 1983 with the establishment of Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the first private engineering colleges in Maharashtra which still remains the flagship institute of the group.

With the sole objective of meeting the long felt need of a centre of scientific and educational research, which would meet the challenges of the present and the future technical advancements of the fast changing world, MIT Group of Institutions was established as a society and charitable trust. Since then, the MIT Group of Institutions has grown leaps and bounds and with more than 10 campuses, 65+ Institutes in the state of Maharashtra covering almost 1000 acres of area. MAEER's MIT Group provides education in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Marine Engineering, Insurance, Distance Education, Telecom Management, Lighting, Design, Food & Technology, Retail Management, Masters in Business Administration, School of Government and also School Education.

Hon'ble Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad-Founder MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions and UNESCO Chair Holder-Human Rights, Peace and Democracy is an eminent educationist, thinker, a devoted teacher and a dedicated social worker who is one of the pioneers in introducing the policies of privatization of education in the state of Maharashtra .On his birth day every year 'Bharat Asmita National Award' is given to those extraordinary personalities from across India who have made noted contribution in the field of education as teacher, as Journalist, Best political Leader etc. The   are meant to recognize the selfless and committed feats of leaders from the field of Management Education, Journalism & Mass Media, Science & Technology, Politics and  for their Lifetime Achievement. MAEER's MIT Group has been  imparting 'Value Based Universal Education' for over four decades and 'Bharat Asmita National Awards' aids in recognizing excellence and pointing the impressionable youth in the direction of selfless social service and contribution to nation building.

MIT-Pune, part of MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions and one of the First and Pioneering Private Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra is now MIT-World Peace University (established as State Private University under Govt. of Maharashtra Act No. XXXV 2017 and recognized by UGC).

MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU) is a culmination of a Vision to re-establish India’s position as a ‘Vishwa Guru’, which means ‘The Teacher of the World’.  A strong testimony to our Vision is set by a firm foundation from ‘The MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions and MIT-Pune’ which practiced imparting true values along with Quality Education in Science & Engineering for 4 decades, since 1983. Students at MIT-WPU are leveraging its Academic Framework of Studies to receive Holistic Education through a multi-disciplinary approach that incorporates Academic Knowledge, Research, Technology, Social Innovation and Peace Studies. Its pioneering WPU Methodology is developed with Scholastic Inputs and endeavours to set new benchmarks in the field of Higher Education Globally. 

 

MIT-WPU School of Government (MIT-SOG) was initiated by Hon'ble Shri. Rahul V. Karad, the Executive President of MIT World Peace University and Vice President-MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions, Pune-India in year 2005 with a vision of creating Ethical, Spirited and Committed Political Leadership for the country from the grassroots and from all walks of life. He realized that the impetus for the growth of the nation lies in inspiring the next generation of Indian leaders by recognizing their potential. As an extension of this ideology 'Bharat Asmita National Awards'  that was incepted in the year 2005 by MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions, is conducted annually under the aegis of MITSOG. It aims to inspire many a generation of youth by recognizing exemplary work of management gurus and extraordinary people involved in mass awakening and people at the forefront of Indian Parliamentary Practices for their meaningful contribution in the process of Nation Building.  'Bharat Asmita National Awards' is regarded as one of the highly prestigious awards of the country and has augmented manifold in terms of reputation and stature since its inception in 2005.
