A MASSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT AND POLLUTION CONTROL PROJECT

MIT Group of Institutions, Pune has always tread on the virtuous path in pursuit of excellence not only in the field of Engineering, Technology, Research, Management, Environment and Pollution Control, but also towards promoting Human Values and attaining the ultimate goal of World Peace.

Thus, the establishment of the First UNESCO chair in Human Rights, Democracy and Peace in the South Asian Region at the World Peace Centre of MIT Group of Institutions, Pune unveils a golden chapter in the history of the Indian Education System.

This saga of challenge, struggle and success was possible due to the untiring efforts of the Founder Director Prof. Vishwanath D. Karad, who has dedicated his life for the noble cause of World Peace, in co-operation with a highly motivated team of teachers and educationists.

The activities of the WPC include a massive Environmental Improvement and Pollution Control Project on the banks of Indrayani River at Alandi and Dehu (Holy Pilgrimage Centres), the homes of Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara and Tukaram respectively.

"World Philosophers' Meet - A Parliament of Science, Religion and Philosophy", was as attended by more than 700 Indian and Foreign delegates representing nearly fifty countries in November, 1996.
