THE OBJECTIVE BEHIND INITIATING BHARAT ASMITA NATIONAL AWARDS
India has been progressing on all frontiers, whether it may be Information Technology, Finance, Automobile or Agriculture. We have been self sufficient in many sectors along with the Infrastructural development that has been rapid. The world has woken up to recognize the strength of the Indian knowledge foray. With over a billion people, different races, numerous religions and languages backed by a vast and diverse geographical spread. India considered as the world’s  largest democracy today, is all set to make its presence felt in all spheres of life on the globe from influencing geostrategic decisions to directing economic policies and reforms. As our nation awakens, the next generation of education and socially aware young leaders can blitz their way into making India a superpower by the year 2040, which today is the aspiration of every India.
To get to this pedestal we have to recognize the contribution and seek inspiration from the leaders across all lines of the society in India who made this found this new status possible through their relentless hard work and selfless perseverance backed by strong foresight to recognize by strong patriotic fervor. The Bharat Asmita National Awards are meant to recognize the selfless and awe inspiring feats of leaders from the field of Management Education, Journalism & Mass Media and Polities.

THE PROMOTERS OF THE AWARDUnder the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Education Research trust (MAEER), Maharashtra Institutes of Technology (MIT) Group of Institutions was established in 1983 based at Pune with the sole objective of imparting education from KG to Post Graduate level. With the philosophy of “Union of Science and Spirituality for the benefit of humanity at large”, the institution has progressed with over 48 institutes where more than 40,000 students in various disciplines are shaping their careers at the MIT Group of Institutions.
Seventeen years after its founding, MIT School of Management (MIT-SOM) with an alumnus of over 5000 students has following in the footsteps of MAEER’s MIT, and today delivering value based management education to over 1000 students from across the country at its campus in Pune.
In 2005, history was made when MIT School of Government was unveiled at the auspicious hands of the then, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat at Delhi on June 7, 2005. It is the first institute in whole of Asia to initiate a Post Graduate Program for creating Leaders in the field of Politics & Government.
With the initiation of MIT-SOG and MIT-SOM earlier, we have realized that the growth of the nation lies in inspiring the next generation of Indian leaders by recognizing their potential. It is them who will be torch bearers of this nation through their intellect, setting new standards of performance and excellence in the fields of Management Educations, Mass Media & Journalism and Politics.
