  1. Smt. Bhavana Gawali is currently a Member of Parliament , serving 2nd term of public life in the Lok Sabha being elected from Vashim Lok Sabha constituency of Maharashtra (From 1999 to 2008)

  1. She got elected at the age of 25  which you know is the minimum age required to enter Lok Sabha.
  1. Although she is affiliated to Shiv Sena but on many issues she has the courage to  have a different view and expression, if it is in the wide national context thus creating a separate identity of her own.

  1. Considering the vastness of our country and influential media there are some members of parliaments who work silently at the grass root level  but does not catch prompt media attention. Apart from Smt. Bhavana Gawali other name of Member of Parliament had appeared for this category – Ms. Tejswini Gowda, M.P. from Karnataka, but, other committee members upheld the name of Smt. Bhavana Gawali for her genuine works, dedication towards people and Social Commitment.
  1. I have personally observed her working towards betterment of the society and there is no doubt in my mind that she will again get elected for the 3rd consecutive term.

  1. Smt. Bhavana Gawali has been awarded by World Economic forum for Good Governance as a World Leader in 2007
